The Kainake community set aside 55 hectares of virgin lowland tropical rainforest for community conservation. A mammal survey in September 2016 resulted in the identification of 17 mammals one of which is endangered and another vulnerable species.

In January 2014, we established an elementary school to cater for 5 to 8 year old students because the nearest school was at least 1 and half hours away from the community.

We are currently developing a low environmental impact alternative livelihood project to provide revenue generating opportunities for the community as a way to promote conservation of the rainforest.

Opportunities for volunteering will be coming soon.
